Romeu Fialho Vicente completed his 4-year degree in System Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Leiria, Portugal, in 2020. During his studies, he developed a strong foundation in electronics, instrumentation, and control systems. Upon graduation, he joined Siemens Mobility, where he currently works as a Hardware Engineer. In this role, he is an integral part of the hardware team responsible for the entire railway signaling system. His work involves ensuring the reliability and efficiency of signaling equipment, contributing to the safety and smooth operation of railway networks.
Sérgio Manuel da Silva concluded
his 5-year degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of
Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, in 1995, and obtained his M.Sc.
in Systems and Automation from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University
of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2003. He completed part of the Ph.D. program in
Electrical and Computer Engineering, including his thesis project, A
Decentralized Strategy to Control and Coordinate the Motion of Multiple Robotic
Vehicles, at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of
Coimbra, Portugal, in 2011. He was a lecturer in the Department of Electrical
Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Leiria, Portugal, from 1995/1996
to 2003, and has held the position of Assistant Professor there since 2003. His
research interests include electronics, instrumentation, control systems, and
mobile robotics.
