Author Biographies

Katarzyna Baran-Gurgul received her PhD in Environmental Engineering Sciences (specialization: hydrology and applied statistics) from the Cracow University of Technology. She works as an assistant professor at the same university, at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Energy, in the Department of Geoengineering and Water Management. Her work focuses primarily on the study of extreme hydrological phenomena (mainly droughts), the temporal and spatial variability of river flows, and the application of statistics in environmental engineering. Her research topics mainly include hydrology, drought analysis, river flow variability, statistical methods in environmental engineering, time series analysis, and probability distributions of hydrological processes.
