Yong Liao received his PhD degree from University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2010. Before that, he graduated from Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences with a master’s degree, and University of Science and Technology of China with a bachelor’s degree, in 2004 and 2001, respectively. From 2014 to 2015, he was a senior principal data scientist at Symantec Inc. He was a senior member of technical staff at Narus, a Boeing Company, from 2011 to 2014. Before joining Narus, he was a software engineer at Microsoft. He is currently a Professor at the School of Cyberspace Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China. He has over 60 publications and 12 awarded U.S. patents. His research interests include machine learning, network security, and privacy.
