Meijie Liu received her B.A.Sc. degree in applied physics from the Qingdao University, Qingdao, Shandong, China, in 2001, her M.A.Sc. degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, Sichuan, China, in 2004, and her Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering from China University of Petroleum, Qingdao, Shandong, China, in 2016. In her Ph.D. thesis, she focused on developing methods of sea ice classification and thickness detection for high-resolution and polarimetric SAR. Meijie Liu has worked at Qingdao University, researching optics and electromagnetic fields since 2004. Moreover, she studies sea ice detection via optical and microwave remote sensing at the First Institute of Oceanography, MNR, including sea ice types, concentration, thickness, and drift velocity through altimeters, SAR, and optical sensors.
