Dr. Ademir received his B.E. degree in electrical engineering in 1987 from the Federal University of Santa Maria, Santa Maria, Brazil, his M.S. degree in industrial informatics in 1995 from the Federal Technological University of Parana, Curitiba, Brazil, and his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 2007 from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Since 1996, he has been a member of the faculty of the State University of Santa Catarina, Joinville, Brazil, where he is a full professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. From August 2015 to July 2016, he was a visiting professor with the Wisconsin Electric Machines and Power Electronics Consortium (WEMPEC), University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, WI, USA. His teaching and research interests include electrical machines,
control of electrical drives, neural networks and renewable energy.
