Dr. Jiri Plasek is an Associate Professor of Cardiology with a main research interest in electrophysiology, risk stratification, platelet function tests, biomarkers, and echocardiography. Most of his professional career has been bound to University Hospital Ostrava and the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Prague. His postdoctoral studies were concluded in 2012 with a thesis on vasovagal syncope and vasoactive peptides. He has authored numerous impacted articles and is a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology.
Dr. Jiří Vrtal is a Physician at the Department of Internal Medicine and Cardiology, University Hospital Ostrava. He graduated from Palacky University in Olomouc in 2014 and completed his cardiology residency at University Hospital in Ostrava in 2019. He is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders and is interested in cardiac pacing, ICD, CRT, and electrophysiology. He is a member of the European Society of Cardiology and the European Heart Rhythm Association.
