Christos Pezirkianidis is an assistant professor of positive psychology and a member of the Positive Psychology Lab at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. He worked as a captain psychologist in the Greek Air Force for 14 years and as a researcher and trainer in 15 national and EU projects regarding positive and counseling psychology interventions and the psychological profiling of unemployed individuals, teachers, school and university students, low-skilled adults, the Hellenic and UN army, and police officers. He has presented his research work at scientific conferences, in books and journals, at educational seminars, and to social organizations and university institutions. His research interests concern the understanding of how people flourish psychologically in their everyday lives and through adversity, the creation of a Greek wellbeing observatory, and the implementation of positive psychology interventions focusing on prevention, mental health promotion, building positive relationships, strengths of character, and psychological resilience. He is a board member of the Hellenic Association of Positive Psychology, the coordinator of the positive psychology branch of the Hellenic Psychological Association, and a member of the International Positive Psychology Association, the Psychological Society of Northern Greece, the American Psychological Association, as well as the Hellenic Scientific Association of Peer Counseling.
