Yannan Yang completed his PhD (Biomedical Engineering) at the Australian Institute of Bioengineering and
Nanotechnology/University of Queensland in 2019 before taking a postdoctoral research fellow position in the same institute. In 2023, Yannan Yang established his own research group (Biomaterials and Immune Engineering Laboratory—BIEL) in SAiGENCI at the University of Adelaide. He has developed innovative synthetic approaches for biomaterials and nanoparticles with controllable architecture and composition and demonstrated the great potential of materials-based cancer immunotherapy. Yannan Yang’s vision is to develop novel biomaterials-enabled vaccine technology for cancer immunotherapy and promote the clinical translation of this technology to significantly improve the treatment outcome of cancers with poor prognosis.
