Prof. Feroz Mahomed Swalaha is the Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Food Science at the Durban University of Technology, South Africa, where he earned a DTech in Biotechnology and Food
Technology. He has worked extensively in biological wastewater treatment using
mathematical modeling. He also maintains an interest in developing new
technologies for treating waterborne pathogens and surveying pathogens such as
Legionella spp. in domestic settings.
