Dr. Gholam Reza Emad is a senior lecturer of Nautical Science at the Australian Maritime College, University of Tasmania, Australia. He holds a master’s degree from World Maritime University and a Ph.D. from the University of Victoria. He joined the Australian Maritime College in February 2016 as a senior lecturer and researcher. In 2017, he held the position of AMC Postgraduate Course Coordinator. In 2021, he founded and is directing the C-HELM (Centre for Research in Cognitive Human Element in the Maritime Domain). He is a member of the Engineers Australia-Australasian Association for Engineering Education, a member of the Australian Academic Integrity Network (AAIN), a member of the Society for Nautical Research, and a member of the Association of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. His research interests mainly include (1) logistics, (2) vocational education and training curriculum and pedagogy, (3) higher education, and (4) maritime engineering.
