Dr. David M. Barnard is a research ecohydrologist at the Water Management and Systems Research Unit, USDA-ARS, Fort Collins, CO, USA. He obtained his M.S. in forest ecology from Oregon State University in 2010 and a PhD in micrometeorology and plant physiology from Colorado State University in 2014. Dr. Barnard’s research focuses on mountain watershed functioning including pre- and post-fire mitigation efforts, snow hydrology, vegetation responses to climate variability, and hydrologic modeling.
Dr. Kyle R. Mankin is a research agricultural engineer and research leader at the Water Management and Systems Research Unit, USDA-ARS, Fort Collins, CO, USA. He holds an M.S. in agricultural engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 1987 and a PhD in agricultural engineering from the Ohio State University in 1994. Dr. Mankin’s current research interests mainly include soil and water assessment tool models, nonpoint source pollution, and stream flow.

Dr. Sushant Mehan is an assistant professor in the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department at South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD, USA. He obtained his M.S. in soil and water engineering from Punjab Agricultural University in 2014 and a PhD in agricultural and biological engineering from Purdue University, USA, in 2018. Dr. Sushant Mehan’s research agenda includes advancing the understanding and physical representation of nutrients’ fate and transport to manage water resources using computing infrastructure. His work also examines the impact of climate on water resources, assessing how changes in climate and land use patterns can influence water availability and distribution, which is critical for developing adaptive strategies in agricultural practices and water resource management.
