Carlo Deregibus, architect and Ph.D. in architecture and building design, is a tenure-track assistant professor of architecture and urban design at the Politecnico di Torino, where he has held the position of Architectural Advisor since 2024. Since 2019, he has been the Design Manager of the Masterplan Team, an innovative and award-winning research program on the tactical potential of architectural design that supports the Atheneum and other public institutions in their planning activities. The author of more than seventy scholarly works and editor of the super-disciplinary journal Philosophy Kitchen, he was awarded the VI International Hangai Prize for Young Researchers. His cultural approach combines transcendental phenomenology, the theory of systems, the theory of efficacy, ethics and the aesthetics of formativity. His extensive design practice includes restorations, interiors, and new buildings in Italy and abroad, and, in 2018, his firm, Bottega di Architettura, was awarded the NIB prize, which selects the top 10 emerging architectural firms in Italy.
