John Menezes holds a BA in Biology/German Language from the University of St. Thomas, and an MD in Medicine from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed 3 years of general surgery residency at the University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine, after a research year at the University of Pittsburgh, which was followed by a 3 year residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He then sub-specialized with the completion of a one-year adult and pediatric craniofacial fellowship at Johns Hopkins. He is an Associate Professor at the the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at University of Nevada. His areas of expertise include cleft lip and palate repair, craniosynostosis, microtia (ear reconstruction), microsurgery, and adult and pediatric facial trauma and has served as head of Nevada's Craniofacial Team since 2002. He has recently developed interests in medical device development and innovation.
