Author Biographies

B. Khan received his MS and PhD degrees from the University of Sheffield, UK, in 2007 and 2013, respectively, in control systems. He is currently working as anĀ Assistant Professor in CIE KFUPM Dhahran. His research interests include control systems and Optimization. He has published more than 100 papers in reputed journals and IEEE conference proceedings.
Zahid Ullah received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from UET Peshawar and COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, Abbottabad, Pakistan, in 2014 and 2017, respectively. He is a PhD Candidate studying Electrical Engineering in Politecnico di Milano, Italy. He has worked as a Lecturer at UMT Lahore, Pakistan (2017 to 2020). He published various articles in reputed journals and conference proceedings. His research interests include machine learning, electrical machines, grid-interfaced wind-energy systems, deep learning, digital twins, smart grid, renewable energy systems, smart buildings, and ICT for renewable energy systems and power grids.
Giambattista Gruosso, Senior Member, IEEE, was born in 1973. He received BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering and a PhD in electrical engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. From 2002 to 2011, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronics and Informatics, Politecnico di Milano, where he has been an Associate Professor, since 2011. He is the author of more than 80 papers on journals and conferences on the topics. He does research on electrical engineering, electronic engineering, and industrial engineering. His main research interests include electrical vehicle transportation electrification, electrical power system optimization, simulation of electrical systems, digital twins for smart mobility, factory and city, and how they can be obtained from the data.
