Justin Riddle was a Postdoctoral Researcher in Flavio Frohlich’s lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the Department of Psychiatry. He received his PhD in Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, with Mark D’Esposito. He received his Bachelor's degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, in Computer Science and Cognitive Science, with a focus on Neuroscience, and Highest Honors. Justin Riddle is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at Florida State University. In the long term, Justin Riddle is passionate about realizing a future for psychiatry in which non-invasive brain stimulation is integrated with present interventions of psychotherapy and pharmacology.
Paul E. Dux is a psychologist and neuroscientist who received his PhD from Macquarie University and then undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University. He has been a faculty member of the School of Psychology at the University of Queensland since 2009. Paul E. Dux leads a group that uses cutting-edge techniques to study the cognitive and neural underpinnings of human information-processing capacity limitations in health and disease. His specific interests are the mechanisms of attention and executive function and the efficacy of cognitive training and brain stimulation and how they change the brain to improve performance.
Michael P. Craven obtained a PhD (1994) and an MSc (Modern Electronics, 1989) from the University of Nottingham and a BSc (Physics, 1987) from the University of Bristol. Michael P. Craven is a Principal Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham in the NIHR MindTech HealthTech Research Centre. He is a member of the Faculty of Engineering Human Factors Research Group (ITRC, University Park campus), the Centre for Dementia (IMH, Jubilee Campus), the Centre for Healthcare Equipment and Technology Adoption (CHEATA) (Clinical Engineering, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust), the Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre mental health theme, Digital Health IRC, East Midlands Research into Aging Network (EMRAN), and the European dementia research network INTERDEM.org. Additionally, Michael P. Craven is a trustee and co-director of the Trent Dementia charity based at the IMH. His current research interests are the following areas: self-monitoring of health (devices
and apps); games and simulation; information design in diagnostics and screening; and evaluation of imaging and surgery navigation systems.
Madeleine J. Groom graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2000 with a BSc in Psychology and spent a year in
the School of Psychology at Leeds University on a project investigating animal models of anxiety and drug addiction. Madeleine J. Groom returned to the University of Nottingham, Division of Psychiatry, in 2002 to a research post investigating cognitive risk markers for early-onset schizophrenia. Madeleine J. Groom completed a PhD in this topic in 2006, followed by a post-doc position investigating the effects of motivational incentives and stimulant medication on neural markers of response inhibition in ADHD. In 2009, Madeleine J. Groom was appointed to the current post of Lecturer in Applied Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience in the Division of Psychiatry and Applied Psychology. Madeleine J. Groom’s research aims to understand the neural basis of neurodevelopmental disorders, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum conditions.
