Prof. Dr. Artur C. Bastos Neto is geologist at the Institute of Geosciences of the Federal University of Rio
Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Porto Alegre, Brazil. He is a graduate in geology from
UFRJ (1974–1977) and holds a Master's in geology from UFRJ (1979–1982). He is a
Doctor in Economic Geology at the Université d’Orléans (France) (1986–1990). He
is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul,
Porto Alegre, Brazil. His areas of research interest include economic geology,
mineralogy, geochemistry, environmental geology, and oil spills.
Dr. Nilson F. Botelho is a full
professor at the University of Brasília. He received his Bachelor’s in 1981
from Universidade de Brasília, an MSc in 1984 from the same university, and a PhD
in 1992 from Universitée de Paris IV. His main research areas include mineralogy
and petrology, metallogenesis, and granites and associated
mineralizations.
