Dr. Nikola L. Drenchev is an Associate Professor at the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IGIC–BAS). He received his Master’s in Materials Science in 2004 and earned his Ph.D. in Solid State Chemistry in 2009 from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Dr. Drenchev began his professional career as a chemist at IGIC–BAS in 2008, advancing to Assistant Professor in 2009 and Associate Professor in 2019. His research interests lie at the intersection of
chemistry and materials science, with a focus on IR spectroscopy using probe molecules, as well as techniques such as Temperature-Programmed Reduction (TPR), Oxidation (TPO), and Desorption (TPD). His work contributes to the understanding of surface chemistry and material reactivity through advanced spectroscopic and thermal characterization methods.
