Prof. Dr. Jianwn Wang received his B.Sc. degree in Zoology from Lanzhou University, in 1988, his M.Sc. degree in Ecology from Lanzhou University, in 1991, and a Ph.D. degree in Soil Science from China Agricultural University, in 1997. He is currently the Dean of the College of Resources and Environment at South China Agricultural University, and a professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Ecology. His research interests mainly focus on circular agriculture, ecological agriculture, and the biosafety of genetically modified crops. In the area of circular agriculture, Prof. Jianwen Wang has conducted in-depth research on how to reduce the negative impacts on the environment during agricultural production and achieve sustainable use of resources by optimising the use and regeneration of agricultural resources. Many of the theories and methods he has proposed have provided valuable guidance for the practice of circular agriculture in China and around the world.
With the deepening of mining development, the problem of environmental pollution in mining areas is becoming more and more serious, and the remediation and reclamation of heavy metal contaminated soil has become an important topic that needs to be solved urgently. Prof Liu has carried out a lot of research work in this field and proposed some new remediation technologies and methods, which provide strong support for the sustainable development of the environment in mining areas.
