Prof. Igor G. Loskutov is Head of the Department of Genetic Resources of Oat, Barley and Rye, at the N.I. Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources (VIR), Russia, and Professor of the Biology Faculty, Saint Petersburg State University, Russia. He completed his Ph.D (plant breeding) and D.Sc. (botany and plant breeding) from the N.I. Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources (VIR). He is an editorial board member of several international journals. He has vast experience in different areas that deal with Plant Genetic Resources: the theoretical, practical, and legislative aspects of the collection, evaluation, and storage of plant genetic resources; botany; the systematic evolution, distribution, and diversity of cultivated and wild oats; and the genomics, genetics, and breeding of the main characteristics and properties of cereals.
