Dr Mohsen Besharat is an Assistant Professor in Water Engineering and Hydraulics at the School of Civil Engineering, University of Leeds. He completed his BSc studies in Civil Engineering followed by an MSc in Civil Engineering on Hydraulic Structures in 2005. His PhD studies was in Civil Engineering on Pressure Surge Control in Two-Phase Flows at the Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. In his PhD, he worked on development of a novel small-scale compressed air energy storage (CAES) system in pipe systems. His research interests include computational hydraulics, sustainable water infrastructure, energy storage technologies, AI-driven smart solutions, and two-phase transient flow.
