My name is Yusif Mubarik. I am currently a PhD student in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Cell Biology, University of Ghana, and a fellow of the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP), World Bank African Centres of Excellence (ACE) Impact project. I hold an MPhil from the Department of Clinical Microbiology, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. I have eleven years of clinical research experience. I have worked on several international research projects in tropical medicine, with a particular research focus on onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis, in the capacity of a field coordinator. As the field coordinator, I successfully coordinated about ten international research projects in the field of lymphatic filariasis and onchocerciasis (including clinical research projects on parasite immunology and human clinical trials). I am a hard-working scientist with several years of research experience both at the bench and in the field, and this has won me authorship in a number of scientific publications. I am working to both augment my research skills and learn new laboratory techniques in diverse areas.
