Prof. Mario Castelán holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of York, UK, and is a research professor at Cinvestav Saltillo. His work bridges artificial intelligence with neuroscience, the humanities, biotechnology, and materials science. He has supervised numerous graduate theses and leads high-impact national and international projects. He is a Level II member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNII) and serves on the editorial board of Nature Scientific Data. His social commitment includes activism within the LGBTIQ+ and neurodivergent communities. He is also an award-winning published poet.
