Guiguang Cheng graduated from the State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry and Plant Resources in West China, Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was selected as one of the "Top Young Talents" of the Yunnan High-Level Talents Innovation Program (YNWR-QNBJ-2020-226). Currently, he is the head of the Department of Food Science and Engineering and the leader of the Research and Utilization team of Food Functional Natural Products. His research focuses on the structural characterization and biological assessment of natural products from medicinal and edible plants and the discovery of novel functional foods. He has hosted more than ten projects for the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Yunnan Major Project Foundation.
