Dr. Domínguez-Avila is a research scientist at Centro de Investigación
en Alimentación y Desarrollo (CIAD) in Hermosillo, Mexico. He completed
his PhD studies in Biotechnology at Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN)
in Mexico City and was awarded the 2019 "Premio Nacional en Ciencia y
Tecnología de Alimentos" (National Prize in Food Science and
Technology). His recent projects include investigations into the effects
of bioactive compounds on the gut–brain axis. He has published more
than 60 papers in various journals. His research interests include
bioactive compounds of vegetable origin and the mechanisms of action of
their health-promoting bioactivities.
