Man Hee Rhee graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine
in 1989, completed his MSc. degree in 1991 and then his PhD degree in 2000 at the
Neurobiology Department, Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. He then spent
three years in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology, Washington
University School of Medicine, USA as a Research Associate. During his
postdoctoral fellowship, he investigated the mechanisms involved in GPCR–RGS
signaling using genetically deleted RGS2 mice in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Man Hee joined
Kyungpook National University as an Assistant Professor in 2003 and was
promoted to Associate Professor in Veterinary Medicine, Kyungpook National
University in 2009. Man Hee lectures on Veterinary Physiology and Practice,
Veterinary Neuroscience, GPCR and second messengers. His current research
interests are in the signal transduction of cannabinoid receptors and the
possible role of G-protein signaling regulators on the cannabinoid function,
the protective effects of natural products, such as ginseng and mushroom
compounds, on cardiovascular disorders, and the anti-inflammatory effect of
natural products in LPS-activated murine macrophage cell lines.
