Dr. Liang Zhao received a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. from the School of Food Science and Nutrition Engineering, China Agricultural University in 2006 and 2011, respectively. From 2012 to 2013, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Auburn University, USA. From 2017 to 2018, he was a visiting scholar at Texas A&M University, USA. He now is an Associate Professor at China Agricultural University. His research interests include lactic acid bacteria physiology and application technology: isolation and screening of excellent lactic acid bacteria, strain metabolic physiology, and strain industrial application technology; functional mechanism of probiotics: analysis of bioactive components of probiotics and their molecular mechanisms for regulating host metabolic diseases; and intestinal flora and host health: analysis of flora structure and function, flora metabolites, and host chronic disease regulation.
