Prof. Shixiang Li received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in economics from China University of Geosciences in 2004 and 2006, respectively. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Wuhan University in 2009. He is currently the associate dean of public administration at China University of Geosciences (CUG), the leader of the emergency response program, the person in charge of emergency management and public policy under the first-class discipline doctoral program of public management at the China University of Geosciences, and is mainly engaged in the teaching and research in the fields of resources and environmental economy and policy, natural disaster emergency management, public policy and public management, urban governance, and regional development. He is a postdoctoral fellow of the Institute of Quantitative & Technological Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; visiting scholar of Ted Rogers Management School of Ryerson University in Canada; vice chairman of the Youth Branch of Chinese Society on Economics of Geology & Mineral Resources; executive director of Hubei Public Management Research Association; executive director of Administrative Management Study Society of Hubei Province; and a member of the China Society of Natural Resources.
