Prof. Dr. Rodrigo Ortega-Toro is an expert in biodegradable polymers, the revalorization of agro-industrial byproducts, and the physical properties of agricultural products. He obtained his master's and doctorate degrees in Food Science, Technology, and Management from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain). He works as a professor at the University of Cartagena in the Food Engineering Program and in the Doctorate in Engineering with an emphasis on Materials. He is the Director of the Food Packaging and Shelf Life research group and a senior researcher at the Colombian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation. Dr. Ortega is the author of more than 130 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and has participated in more than 50 conferences.
