Stephen L Atkin is the Head of School Postgraduate Studies and Research at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Bahrain. Prior to his current position, he was a Reader in Medicine at the Hull University. He was also a Professor of Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Hull York Medical School (HYMS) and a Professor of Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medicine—Qatar. Stephen L Atkin holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Cell Culture from the University of Liverpool. He completed his B.Sc. in Biochemistry and M.B.B.S. at the Newcastle University. He also completed his M.R.C.P. and F.R.C.P. at the Royal College of Physicians London. Stephen L Atkin’s research interests include insulin resistance, polycystic ovary syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and translational clinical research.
Edwina Brennan is an associate professor at the RCSI Medical University of Bahrain. Edwina Brennan serves as a medical commencement program science lecturer and module coordinator. Prior to the current position, Edwina Brennan was a part-time lecturer in biology at the RCSI Bahrain, and a tutor in chemistry and physics along with a part-time lecturer in analytical techniques at the Institute of Technology Carlow. Edwina Brennan completed a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Biology with Bioinformatics at the Institute of Technology Carlow in 2005, and a Ph.D. at the same place in 2010. Edwina Brennan’s areas of expertise include biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology, and environmental sciences.
