Dr. Chi Limei is a Professor at the Department of Buddhist Studies, International College for Postgraduate Buddhist Studies. She completed her Ph.D. in Literature from the University of Tokyo. In recent years, she has studied the history of the Chinese Buddhist Canons during the Song and Yuan dynasties, examining textual circulation in East Asia to advance the methodological study of Chinese Buddhist literature. Her expertise includes medieval Chinese Buddhist history and the history of the Buddhist Canon. Her research focuses on ancient Japanese manuscripts of the Xu Gaoseng Zhuan, analyzing their evolution from manuscripts to woodblock editions and their connection to the life of Daoxuan to reveal the broader social and historical context.
