Irving Manuel Parra Becerra is pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences with a specialization in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP). He earned both his Master’s degree in Chemical Sciences (2022) and his Bachelor’s degree (2018) from BUAP. His research focuses on investigating neuroprotective and immunomodulatory effects in models of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson’s disease, and has resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications in high-impact scientific journals. A dedicated member of the Society for Neuroscience, the Mexican Biochemistry Society, the Mexican Anatomy Society, and the Mexican Society for the Study of Abnormal Movements, he actively participates in national and international conferences, where he shares his findings with the scientific community. In addition to his research, Irving has teaching experience, having taught courses such as Biochemistry, Physiology, and Histology to undergraduate students while mentoring them in their academic development.
