Professor Christopher René Torres-SanMiguel, Born in Mexico City, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Robotics Engineering in 2004 and his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2006. He subsequently completed a Diploma in Teacher Updating for a New Mexican Educational Model in 2010. In 2011, he obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering, and in 2012, he held a postdoctoral position at the Laboratory of Biomechanics for Passive Safety at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain. He also earned a PhD in Education from the Spain-Mexico University. Dr. Torres is a professor and researcher at the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico. He is a leader in the field of biomechanics and an expert in the numerical analysis of tolerance in human injuries. Dr. Torres leads a vast collaborative team comprised of specialists from numerous disciplines, including mechanical and biomedical engineering, orthopedics, physical therapy, and anatomy, among other medical professions. He has a particular interest in studying occupant safety, with an emphasis on high-risk populations such as pediatrics and older people. He is a member of the Scientific Technical Committee of the International Federation for the Promotion of the Science of Mechanisms and Machines and is an active member in the area of Biomechanics.
