Dr. Efstratios N Pistikopoulos received
his Diploma in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,
and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a Professor
of Chemical Engineering, a University Distinguished Professor, a Dow Chemical
Chair, and a Director at Texas A&M Energy Institute. The objective of his
research program is to develop fundamental theory and optimization-based
methodologies and computational tools that enable process engineers to analyze,
design, and evaluate process manufacturing systems which are economically
attractive, energy-efficient, and environmentally benign, while at the same time
exhibiting a good performance characteristics like flexibility, controllability,
robustness, reliability, and safety.
