Dr. Rohan Davis leads a research program that focuses on the identification of bioactive natural products from Australian plant, fungal, marine invertebrate, and microbial sources for potential development into new drugs, animal health products, agrichemicals, and other industry applications. So far, his group has identified more than 1500 new natural products; they also design and synthesise drug discovery and chemical probe screening libraries based on natural product scaffolds. Since 2017, Rohan has been the Manager of NatureBank, a unique collection of Australian biota (>30K) that have been processed into extract (>21K samples) and fraction (>105K samples) libraries suitable for high-throughput screening and lead/drug discovery. In 2023 and 2024, Dr. Davis was recognised by Clarivate (Web of Science) as a Highly Cited researcher in the field of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
