Prof. Ping Yu received her Ph.D. degree from Sichuan University, China, in 2000. She then joined the Department of Materials Science, College of Materials Science and Engineering, Sichuan University, as an associate professor, where she initiated research on inorganic thin films for innovative microelectronic devices, focusing on perovskite oxide films. She has developed technological expertise in the area of ferroelectric and piezoelectric thin films, paving the way for several applications, including the integration of ferroelectric thin-film capacitors with Si chips. She has also developed piezoelectric materials and processes for thin-film ultrasound transducers. Her scientific research resulted in 20+ Chinese patents and more than 90 publications in journals indexed by SCI/EI. Since May 2006, she has worked as a full professor at the same college. In addition, she serves as a member of the International Society for Hydrothermal and Solvent Thermal Sciences, a member of the Sensor Technology Specialized Committee of the Sichuan Electronic Society, and a permanent member of the Sol–Gel Branch of the China Silicate Society.
