Prof. Dr. Shuiyu Yan joined Chongqing University, China, in 2001, where he now serves as a professor in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning. He holds a PhD in Urban Ecology (2001) from the East China Normal University (Shanghai, China). Between 2006 and 2007, he spent a year as a visiting scholar at the University of Queensland, Australia. His research areas include urban and rural planning and sustainable planning and design. He serves as the Vice President of the Chongqing Ecological Society.
Prof. Dr. Wentao Yan is a Professor in the Department of Urban Planning at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. He earned his PhD in Environmental Engineering from Chongqing University in 2007. He worked as an Associate Professor at Chongqing University for three years and spent about one year as a Visiting Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research areas include ecological cities and low-carbon communities, ecological space planning and management, and adaptive planning and disaster management.
