Dr. Wei Jin works at the College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tongji University as a lecturer, associate researcher, and researcher (since 1996). He received his master’s degree in civil engineering and PhD in environmental engineering from Tongji University. From 2003 to 2006, he served as assistant director at the Shanghai Environmental Monitoring Center. From 2006 to 2008, he worked at Tongji University as a postdoctorate. Facing the major R&D needs of pollution prevention and control of watersheds (led by academician Xu Zuxin), his research focuses on: 1. efficient control of pollution discharged from urban drainage networks (integrated physical and chemical methods); 2. efficient separation and recovery of ammonia nitrogen/phosphorus with low concentration in water (design, synthesis, and mechanism of nano- and porous materials); 3. selective oxidation of micropollutants in water (heterogeneous photoassisted Fenton and catalytic ozone advanced oxidation); and 4. watershed/regional water ecological environment planning and management.
