Dr. Pedro Marques-Vidal is a Full Professor at the Lausanne
University Hospital and the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Before this
position, he was an auxiliary professor of nutrition and public health at the
Medical Faculty of the University of Lisbon, Portugal, and director of the
Escola Superior de Saúde Egas Moniz, Monte de Caparica, Portugal. He received
his M.D. in medical research and his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Université Paul
Sabatier in Toulouse, France, and his Ph.D. in epidemiology from Erasmus
Medical Centre, University of Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He also obtained an
M.Sc. in physiopathology from the Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France, and an M.Sc. in
medical statistics from Université Paris-Sud, Paris, France. He has served on several steering
committees, international associations, and the ethics committee of Canton
Vaud, Switzerland.
