Alexandra Moutinho did her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, in 2007. She is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department of IST and a Senior Researcher at the Center of Intelligent Systems of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IDMEC). Her research interests are focused on service robotics, with special emphasis on uncrewed aerial and ground vehicles, intelligent perception, and control. Being actively involved in the development of different platforms such as airships, multirotors and fixed wing, her research combines both theoretical and experimental developments. She has published over 50 international journal and conference papers and she is/has been the principal investigator, unit coordinator, or participant in several European and Portuguese projects.
