Elena Zamagni is an Associate Professor of Hematology at the University of Bologna, Italy. She received her medical degree from the University of Bologna, where she also served her residency in hematology. She got a PhD in Clinical Hematology at the University of Bologna in May 2005. Her research interests include areas related to multiple myeloma, in particular on the role of high-dose therapy with stem cell support of prognostic factors, minimal residual disease, novel therapies and imaging techniques. She has contributed to the educational sessions of the Italian Society of Hematology, the European Society of Hematology (EHA) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). She has contributed to the drawing up of guidelines on multiple myeloma for the Italian Society of Clinical Oncology and Hematology. She is an active member of the board of the GIMEMA/EMN myeloma working party and she has cooperated in the Scientific secretary and as principal investigator in several national and international ph
