PRASHANT KHARE was
born in India, in 1990. He received the B.Tech. degree in electrical
engineering from Samrat Ashok Technological Institute Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh,
India in 2013, and the M.Tech. degree in power system engineering from National
Institute of Technology, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India, in 2021. He is
currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical and Electronics
Engineering, National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu,
India. His major areas of interest include microgrid control and management using WAMs,
and power distribution systems. He is selected as a Prime Minister’s Research Fellow in the May 2022 selection cycle.
M JAYA BHARATA REDDY was born in India, in 1980. He
received the B.Tech. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from
Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, India, in 2002, and the M.E. degree in
electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree from the Birla Institute of
Technology (BIT) Mesra, Ranchi, India, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. He is
currently working as a Professor with the Department of Electrical and
Electronics Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT)
Tiruchirappalli, Tiruchirappalli, India. He has 20 years of experience in
teaching and research. His current research interests include smart grid,
substation automation, wide-area protection, Cyber security digital relaying, soft computing applications in power
systems, and power system protection. He has been a member of the IEEE Power
and Energy Society. In 2010, he received the prestigious national-level IEI
Young Engineer’s Award in the field of electrical engineering. He is an Editor
of the Electric Power Components and Systems (Taylor & Francis
Publications) and an Associate Editor of High Voltage (IET), IEEE ACCESS, and
IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution.
