Cristina-Ioana Alexe is an associate professor at the “Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacău (Romania) and a master coach in athletics at the Știința University Sports Club from Bacău. She received her PhD in Physical Education and Sport in 2012. Her research focuses on increasing human performance in sports, especially on the relationship between stress, adapted training, and competition. From 2006 to 2025, she was also the coach responsible for training senior athletes who were members of the National Athletics Team of Romania during medium- and long-distance events. She qualified athletes at the Olympic Games and won medals with athletes trained at the World Championships, European Championships, and the World University Games. She won over 130 national champion titles with trained athletes. She holds the title of Master Coach, having as her responsibilities the preparation of high-performance athletes for participation in national, national university, and international competitions. She is a member of the commissions for the completion of undergraduate and master's degree studies. She is constantly involved in specific educational, social, and sports activities for different categories of populations. She is also a member of the Romanian Sports Science Council (since 2003) and the Romanian Association of Alegesiology (since 2005) and was a member of FIEP's Romania branch (2013–2023). Since 2023, she has been the President of the Sports Club “Știința” in Bacau, Romania.
