Dr. Ron A. Adelman is the Director of the Retina and Macula Service at Yale School of Medicine. He is an internationally recognized expert in diseases and surgery of the macula, retina, and vitreous and serves as the President of the Connecticut State Medical Society (CSMS) and Scientific Director of the European Vitreo-Retinal Society (EVRS). Dr. Adelman has served as the President of the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons (CSEP) and President of the New Haven County Medical Association (NHCMA). His clinical interests include macular holes and puckers, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, complex retinal detachments, retinal vein occlusion, retinal lasers, and surgery. He has received the “Senior Honor Award” of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the “Senior Achievement Award” of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Robert Bhisitkul is an ophthalmologist and retina specialist who provides medical and laser treatment for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other retinal diseases. He also performs surgery on macular hole and macular pucker (conditions that cause blurred or distorted vision), retinal detachment, and complications of diabetic eye disease. Dr. Robert Bhisitkul earned his medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine and his doctoral degree in neurosciences at Yale University. He completed a residency in ophthalmology and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Eye and Ear. Dr. Robert Bhisitkul is an associate examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and has served on the exam committee of Kuwait's ophthalmology board.
Dr. Diana V. Do is Professor of Ophthalmology and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs at the Byers Eye Institute, Stanford University. In addition, she is the Clinic Chief of Ophthalmology at Stanford Health Care. Dr. Do was educated at the University of California at Berkeley where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She received her medical degree (Alpha Omega Alpha) and was a Regents Scholar at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. Before joining Stanford, Dr. Do was Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. After her tenure at Johns Hopkins, she was recruited to serve as Vice Chair of Education and Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. In addition, she was Program Director of the ophthalmology residency training program and Director of the Retinal Fellowship Training Program at Nebraska. Her academic achievements have been recognized with numerous national awards, including the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Clinician-Scientist Award, the Ronald Michels Fellowship Foundation Award, the Honor Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Quan Dong Nguyen is Professor of Ophthalmology at the Byers Eye Institute, Stanford University School of Medicine. After completing his education in 2001, Dr. Nguyen joined the faculty at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, as Assistant Professor and then Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of Medical Education. In 2013, he was appointed as the McGaw Endowed Chair in Ophthalmology, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology, and the Inaugural Director of the Stanley M. Truhlsen Eye Institute, and Assistant Dean for Translational Research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He has received Election to Membership, American Ophthalmological Society (2016), Grant Research Award, Club Jules Gonin (2012 and 2014), Senior Achievement Award, American Academy of Ophthalmology (2012) Carl Camras Translational Research Award, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (2012) and R24 Award, National Institutes of Health/National Eye Institute (2010).
Dr. Michael J. Tolentino is a well-versed retina specialist, researcher, clinical trialist, and entrepreneur who diagnoses and treats patients at The Macula Center with three offices in Florida. Furthermore, he is Chief Technology Officer at The Macula Store in Lakeland, Florida, Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando, Florida (2012-Present), and Speaker for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (2011-Present). His areas of expertise cover all facets of medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases, as well as laser surgery. This includes diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular puckers, uveitis, retinal tears, complex retinal detachments, and retinal degenerations such as retinitis pigmentosa.
