Professor Louis Gosselin is a professor of mechanical engineering at Université Laval (Quebec City, QC, Canada). He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University, Durham, USA, in 2004. He also received his Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke, QC, Canada in 2001. The main objective of his research is to enhance energy efficiency in buildings and industrial processes. His interests cover heat transfer, thermodynamics, building engineering, HVAC systems, building envelopes, occupant behavior, primary aluminum production, anode making, energy management in industrial processes, phase change materials, arctic buildings, energy infrastructures in the arctic, geothermal energy, solar energy, and waste heat recovery.
Prof. Dr. Ali Hakkaki-Fard is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University in 2011. He received his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran in 2006. He was the Associate Professor at the Sharif University of Technology from 2016 to 2022. Prof. Dr. Ali Hakkaki-Fard’s research focuses on energy efficiency and renewable and sustainable energy systems. He focuses on three main areas: geothermal energy, ejector cooling systems, and photovoltaic thermal systems. However, he is also interested in green hydrogen production, district heating, and building energy systems. His main research objective is to make green energy accessible and affordable to all.
