Katerina D. Tzimourta is a Postdoctoral
Researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University
of Western Macedonia, (Laboratory of Biomedical Technology and Digital Health),
in the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Ioannina
(Human-Computer Interaction Lab–HCILAB) and a Adjunct Lecturer in the
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She
is an Informatics and Telecommunications Engineer by education and received a Ph.D.
from the Department of Medical Physics, Medical School, University of Ioannina,
Greece (2020). Currently, She is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of
Mechanical Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and also in
the Postgraduate Program “Digital Health and Health Management”. Her research
focuses on biosignal processing methods, machine learning algorithms, and
Brain-Computer Interfaces for mental movements and brain disorders.
Panagiotis Ioannidis graduated from Medical
School at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.TH.) in 1992, obtained
his residency in Neurology in 2001, and has specialized dementia at the
Dementia research group, National Hospital for Neurology, University College
London, in 2002. He received a Ph.D. from A.U.TH. in 2006. He is currently an
Associate Professor of Neurology at the Medical School of A.U.TH. He has also
been a member of the Thessaloniki Medical Association since 1993, of the
American Academy of Neurology since 2000, of the British Medical Association
since 2001, and is a founding member of the Hellenic Academy of
Neuroimmunology.
Nikolaos Giannakeas has a BSc in Physics
(University of Ioannina, Greece) and Computer Science (Hellenic Open
University, Greece) and a Ph.D. diploma in the field of Bioinformatics (Medical
School, University of Ioannina, Greece). He has worked for more than 15 years
on research projects funded by National and European Programs (3rd CSF, NSRF
2007-2013, NSRF 2014-2020, FP6, FP7, Horizon 2020). Currently, he is an
Assistant Professor (2019–present) of Signal and Systems at the Informatics and
Telecommunications Department, University of Ioannina, Greece. Research
interests: Signal Processing and Image Analysis, Artificial Intelligence and
Machine Learning, and Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering.
Alexandros T. Tzallas is currently an
Associate Professor in the field of Biomedical Engineering and specifically in
the “Analysis and Processing of Biomedical Data”, at the Department of
Informatics and Telecommunications, of the University of Ioannina. He is also
affiliated as an Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Metabolism of
Digestion and Reproduction at the Faculty of Medicine of Imperial College
London. He has worked on several research and development European and national
programs as a software engineer, researcher, technical manager, seminar
instructor, and post-doc researcher. His research interests include EEG,
wearable devices, biomedical signal and image processing, biomedical
engineering, decision support and medical expert systems, and biomedical
applications.
