Kaveh Hajifathalian completed his medical degree (MD) at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, followed by his fellowships in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Cornell University, New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York. He then completed his fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at Cornell University, New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He is board-certified in the areas of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He received his MPH in Quantitative Methods from Harvard University, School of Public Health. His research focuses on the role of minimally invasive endoscopic procedures in the management of obesity and chronic liver and biliary disease, as well as the development and evaluation of cutting-edge advanced endoscopic techniques. He is an associate editor for Foregut, the official journal of the American Foregut Society, and is a member of various medical associations such as the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and the Director of Advanced Endoscopy at Rutgers University Hospital.
