Dr. Abdullah Al-Mamun received his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2011. He was a research engineer at the Centre for Water Research of the National University of Singapore in 2009, then served as an academic staff at the School of Applied Science at Republic Polytechnic from 2010 to 2012. He joined Sultan Qaboos University in 2012 as a visiting consultant, then as an assistant professor from 2012 to 2020. He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University. Dr. Abdullah Al-Mamun won The National Research Award for the best scientific research on the Environment and Biological Resources sector by The Research Council in 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, and 2017. He also received the third prize in the “Omani Young Water Researchers Award” by MEDRC in 2023. In addition, he is a member of the International Society for Microbial Electro-Chemical Technology (ISMET) and the American Chemical Society. He is enlisted in the top 2% of influential scientists in the world. So far, he has published 80 journal articles in internationally referred journals, 70 conference articles, and three book chapters.
