Nicolas Chamel is a professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. He obtained a Ph.D. in theoretical physics in 2004 at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris, France. He received the Adolphe Wetrems Prize 2011 and the Pol & Christiane Swings Prize 2013. He is interested in various aspects of compact stars, including superfluidity in neutron star interiors. He has also been working on the development of nuclear energy density functionals for nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics.
