Dr. Mehboob Alam received his B.Sc. (Hons.) from the University of Engineering and Technology, his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2003, and his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University in 2007. He is an Associate Professor and Chairman at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Poonch Rawalakot, Pakistan. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics, Rice University, Houston, TX, USA, and as an NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada) Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Toronto, Canada. He also served as a faculty member at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, and Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur, Pakistan. He received the Informatics Circle of Research Excellence (iCORE) Canada Postgraduate Scholarship (2002–2003). He received the Canadian Strategic Microelectronics Council of ITAC Industrial Collaboration Award (SMC Award) in 2003. His research interests include Nanophotonics and Metamaterials, VLSI Signal Processing, and Model Order Reduction (MOR) for Large-scale Linear, Non-linear, and Stochastic On-chip Interconnect systems.
Prof. Zhengbiao Ouyang received his B.Sc. in radio engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology in 1983 and his Ph.D. in
electron physics from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 1988. He is the Director of the Solid-State Photonics Laboratory, the Director of the THz Technical Research Center, Shenzhen University, and the Vice Director of the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Micro-Nano Photonic Information Technology, Shenzhen. His main research interests in recent years include optical physics; nanophotonic materials; nanosensors; optical-logic integrated circuits; nanophotonic devices based on photonic crystals, metamaterials, and metasurfaces; high-speed optical communication technology; and terahertz technology. He is a Trustee of the Chinese Society of Optical Engineering, a Senior Member of Optica, and a Senior Member of the Chinese Optical Society.
