João Paulo Monticelli holds a degree in geology from the Institute of Geosciences at the University of São Paulo (IGc-USP), a master’s degree from the Polytechnic School of USP (POLI-USP), and is currently a PhD candidate in geotechnics at the São Carlos School of Engineering (EESC-USP). He works with geological-geotechnical investigation and data analysis for the construction of geotechnical Building Information Modeling (BIM), slope stability assessment, dynamic analysis of gravitational mass movements, and of hydrogeological processes. His current research focuses on geological-geotechnical guidelines for outdoor recreational areas, with an emphasis on natural hazard risk and sustainability in tropical environments. His main interests include geological-geotechnical risk forecasting, sustainable land use, and the integration of advanced modeling techniques in geotechnics. ORCID (0000-0001-8419-7696).
